How good is the university of South Florida education wise?

I’m about to decide on what university I am going to attend to and the schools I’m deciding are University of Florida, Florida State University and University of South Florida but I haven’t heard much about the education at University of South Florida so I am hoping I can find out something here

According to the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities just released in November 2009 here is how your three schools rank in international academic reputation and other measurements:

U of Florida: 39
Florida State (tied) 71 – 90
University of South Florida: 91 – 112

The University of Central Florida also ranks 91 – 112.

They assign these groups due to statistical ties.

There are many famous Universities that rank in the 91 – 112 range including:

Notre Dame
Brandeis
University of Missouri

It is a fine place to be considering all the schools in the United States, public and private.

Some individual programs at USF are outstanding at the Grad level, but the same teachers can teach undergrad courses, and the academic reputation still applies. . According to US News and World Report 2010:

The industrial and organizational psychology program is ranked# 8.

USF’s public health program came in at #20

The newly formed College of Behavioral & Community Sciences is home to several ranked programs:

criminology (#22),
audiology (#24),
rehabilitation counseling (#39),
speech-language pathology (#46)

Library and information studies is ranked at #29.

I’m from Tampa and I ended up choosing the University of Florida. USF’s education is pretty good however, UF is still the top public school in the Southeast. BUT a big part in choosing the right school, is also what you plan on getting your degree in and what career path is. For example, I originally went to school for Physical therapy, UF’s Masters program was the best in Florida, FSU didn’t even have it as an undergrad option and USF was brand new to it. If you’re not sure of what to do yet, I will always say UF :)
