Is it because he wants to run for higher office next time around and doesn’t want to be in "The Party Of No"?

Any republican that shows the least bit of willingness to work with the dems is persona non grata. They eat their own. The party of no tag is appropriate. More power to him.

    Because he’s awesome.

I’d vote for him even over the Democrat just as a pat on the back for leaving that pack of wolves.

Because the guy lives in florida and is too tan to be a part of the Teabagging GOP. They would have thrown him out, anyway.

He’s 30+ pts behind in the primary race, but polls show that in the three-way race with Rubio and the Dem, he’s only 7 pts behind Rubio. He doesn’t want to surrender the power. He wants to win and be in power.

He is splitting the vote so the Democrats can win.

It’s a political death sentence to be associated with the racists, xenophobes, Theocrats, etc. that make up the Republican party now.. Crist is a fairly respectible con, and sees that it’ll only hurt him to continue under the banner of a dying party.

or is it because he is a sore loser and knew he would lose to Republican Rubio and by going Independent he splinters the votes and could actually win,he left his party cause he is a selfish D***! they are well rid of him.and I hope my Independent counter parts in Florida pass this fool by!

He is losing in the polls against another one, so he is bailing out of the party to get another cushy government job with all the perks and benefits.
It is a sad statement on things when Serving the Public for the greater good becomes one of the highest paying and earning jobs in a Republic.
This is not what the original writers had in mind.
If an elected official or public servant does not have the moral fiber to refuse and reject what is basically a bribe by PACs and Lobbyists, then that individual is not worthy to be elected to any office.
Crist cannot win against the other two, or he would not get the Republican ticket on an honest vote, so he drops the party and goes for another. That is a professional public servant, and that is just wrong.
